Arizona is nice. I was staying with my uncle at Lake Havasu City, around 5 hours drive from Los Angeles very close to the border of California and Arizona. The temperature here is brilliant and hardly any humidity so anyone that loves the warm summer weather should seriously consider living here.
Apart from lazing around in my uncle's spa till about 10pm we didn't get to spend too much time there and set off for the 5 hour drive to Phoenix to catch an NBA game at the USA Airways centre. And what a spectacle it was; Suns versus Timberwolves - the game was relatively close for 3 quarters until the Suns stepped up a gear and won the game by an odd 20 points.
Having stayed overnight in Phoenix, the following day we set off for a drive towards the Grand Canyon (another odd 5 hours drive). Our timing was impeccable as we managed to get a glimpse of the canyon at sunset, something that is a must see - we didn't stay too long thereafter as it got pretty close to freezing point at about 8pm at night.
We also managed to hike down part of the canyon, the hike down is fine - but going up is a real struggle, considering I have been stocking up on burgers and not much exercise the last week!
