The land of champions is what I would like to call Barbados - I would seriously consider living there permanently.
The place I am staying at is awesome, literally 20 seconds walk from the beach. The Carib beach bar and restaurant, which has been the regular watering hole for a heap of Aussies in the area is 15 seconds from where Im staying. And then the nightlife, wow!! St Lawrence and the Gap is only a short stroll and has been massive every night. Although Im loving this lifestyle, its certainly taking its toll on my body.
I arrived in Barbados on the 11th April and managed to catch maybe 15 minutes of the England versus Bangladesh game (which England won of course with a paltry score of 130 odd in the 37th over I think). I am quite surprised to see that most of the games that I have been to are not sold out. The general feel around the Caribbean is that the organisers of the event didn't issue enough tickets to the locals - either way I am still having a ball.
The following day we drove around the whole island in a rented mini-van. We checked out the Crane beach which is apparently the best beach on the island. The water is so clean and clear and so warm, its perhaps several degrees colder than the air which is very warm anyway! We checked out the "Animal Cave" which was kinda interesting, there are some live animal flowers in an underground cave within the water.
I managed to sit through a whole day of cricket and caught the Australia versus Ireland game. Its a shame the Aussies didn't bat first because the day did not last long. There was a massive party afterwards with about 30 Aussies at the Carib beach bar celebrating the demolishment of the Irish.

Alright so finally some sports info! Great to hear dude! Guess I don't need to anymore. Oh the Barmy Army were SMASHED by the South Africans which means Australia will most likely play them AGAIN (3rd time now) in the semi-final, while NZ play Sri Lanka in the other match.
Sounds like the Caribbean is great! Still waiting for my invite to come and join you :(
Hope you have fully recovered from your illness (so you can REALLY enjoy the party), if not don't come and visit me when you come back :D
